MARKETING CIRCULATION MANAGER
Reports To: Vice President, Marketing

Position Summary:
Responsible for the development and execution of circulation plans, perform qualitative and quantitative marketing research and analysis, and support the marketing initiatives for all sales channels.

Essential Position Responsibilities:
– Execute circulation plans for multiple brands, as well as support multichannel efforts.
– Analyze results and make recommendations for opportunities.
– Develop marketing promotional offer plan.
– Create print production instructions for brands, managing co-mails schedules.
– Manage system maintenance of all campaigns by setting up offers, promotion codes and source codes for tracking.
– Analyze and maintain detailed testing results, providing P&l's, and breakeven analyses.
– Develop historical performance database.
– Develop and maintain competitive analysis reports.
– Analyze business trends and make recommendations from findings.
– Monitor key file metrics: file growth, retention, attrition, cannibalization, LTV. productivity rates.
– Forecast sales trends, produce marketing curves, and monitor file performance.
– Manage Appleseed's reward card campaign, coordinating pre-approvals and monitoring conversion rates, and key business dynamics.
– Liaison with Credit Company for all processing, marketing and informational needs.
– Manage credit programs / marketing initiatives and track results.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
– Bachelor degree required. Apparel catalog or retail experience preferred.
–4+ years experience.
–Experience with catalog & web channel businesses preferred.
–Strong verbal and written communication skills.
–Ability to manage time in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
–Ability to work effectively and creatively within a team environment as well as independently.
–Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point).
–Experience with AS400/Commercialware backend or Micros Site Manager System a plus.
–Experience with a query tool such as Smart-focus.


CATALOG DESIGNER / ART DIRECTOR
Reports To: Creative Director

Position Summary:
The Catalog Designer will use their strong design and conceptual skills to create and produce well-designed catalogs that are consistent with branding criteria and are effective selling presentations. Will act as lead designer on some catalogs and will be expected to work on books at all phase of production. Will work with Creative Manager to plan and schedule studio photography.

Art Direction: Responsible and accountable for execution of still life photography ensuring they are brand appropriate, executed to concept and on schedule.

Essential Position Responsibilities:
– Work with Creative Director, Merchandising team, and CopyWriter to design/create compelling concepts and layouts that accurately portray the selling attributes of the merchandise and visually reflect brand.
– Work with copywriters regarding layout space and selling strategies.
– Plan, schedule and direct studio photography to be completed on time and within budget.
– Assist in selection of outside resources such as photographers, stock agencies, illustrators and contract design and productions sources. Assign production tasks to staff and contractors.
– Ensure that pre-press deadlines are met; review and approve technical artwork of catalog spreads between in-house, color separator and printer.
– Understand merchandise objectives and apparel selling strategies.
– Execute final artwork and prepare for production as needed with Production Manager and team.
– Maintain current knowledge of industry-wide creative trends and technology.
– Exhibit professional conduct in all business relationships, actions and communications.
– Art Direct off-figure photo teams and provide specific direction (in-house studio and freelance).
– Edit film as needed while meeting all deadlines.
– Perform miscellaneous job functions such as photo/document scanning, electronic document creation, and presentations boards for quarterly team/brand meetings.
– Position may require some travel.
– Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
– Bachelor's Degree or BFA in visual communication art of design; or equivalent experience which demonstrates required knowledge, skills and abilities.
– 5+ years graphic design experience in studio/catalog/advertising or magazine which includes conceptual work, design and production.
– Previous catalog experience is required.
– Proven experience working on projects through color separation and printing.
– Strong design and conceptualizing skills. Strong knowledge of composition, typography, printing processes.
– Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
– Strong computer skills in a Mac environment and proficient in InDesign.
– Figure Art Direction experience is a plus.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines.
– Ability to adapt and be flexible in an ever-changing fast paced environment. Must work well within the team and be able to take guidance/constructive criticism.


DIVISIONAL MERCHANDISING MANAGER
Reports To: VP/GMM Appleseed's, The Tog Shop, linensource

Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the merchandising activities and buying staff, and delivering a well-planned merchandise assortment which will satisfy our customer, achieve our financial goals, and execute our company's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development, selection and creative presentation of items for the Appleseed's brand, with specific focus on the catalog and web channels, following established policies, procedures, practice, requirements and standards.

Essential Position Responsibilities:
–Directs merchandise selection process and reviews buyers assortment for balance and adherence to strategic and financial objectives.
–Develop and establish the annual and seasonal financial plans.
–Plan and review department and brand sales, margin, density, and SKUs to maximize sales and profit and minimize risk.
–Layout and manage approximately eight (8) different catalogs per year.
–Work with creative and catalog production on vision and tone for items and book.
–Collaborate with departments for product development, technical, quality control, inventory control, marketing, etc.
–Identify opportunities to utilize obsolete inventories.
–Oversees/participate in market visits.
–Assist and understand competitors strengths, weaknesses and strategies and react accordingly to ensure market leadership.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
–Requires a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of buying/retail experience.
–Bachelors Degree in Design, Arts, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent.
–Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.
–Excellent knowledge of retail math calculations and formulas.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
–Experience as a Senior Buyer or Divisional Merchandise Manager.
–Ability to understand target customer and business objectives and manage team and assortment to meet the requirements of both.
–Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organization skills required.
–Excellent taste level - a plus when determining the best color/print/pattern/scale on an item that will fit the needs of our customers.
–Creativity - when creating outfits from various items - when compiling spreads with compatible products, etc.
–Sense of urgency - to be on top of deliverables that are required for meetings, products, etc.
–Work effectively/productively with upper-management.
–Ability to prioritize and delegate.
–Must be organized and self-motivated.
