I love the style and color (claret), however the material it is made of is a disappointment. It picks up every speck of lint, even off a scarf I wear with it. I've only worn it about 5 times and have to completely clean it off so it looks presentable.
It has already begun to pill along the edges where the button holes and buttons are as well as at the cuffs.

Bought this coat on sale, and got a fantastic price. It is a beautiful color (claret), fits perfectly and is very comfortable. Seems to be well constructed. Prompt shipping.

Love the coat. Claret was perfect color. Not too red and not dark, just right. Have worn it several times and gotten many compliments. Did order up a size because of other reviews. Thanks girls for the help in sizing. Length is perfect for me at 5'2".

Rated 5 out of 5 by Denise5 love this coat!
With its classic styling, shape-enhancing seams, and flattering color, this coat has it all! I thought that it ran just a little bit big because I ordered a size down and it fit well, even when wearing a sweater under it. The coat is warm and I really like the way it looks on me. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Annaoj sleeves too short
This coat has a nice style, collar and material, but is a bit too bulky and the sleeves are decidedly too short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MomLovesTaupe Some tips on this great classic coat ...
For years I've resisted settling for the countless camels and tans always available everywhere and I've finally found this wool coat for my mother in her favored true taupe or beige. On my monitor, this taupe appears to be a paler, grayish tone; in person it is a warmer toned taupe - a very, very pretty and appealing shade that is not at all dull or lifeless as some neutrals can be. My mother usually wears a 6P and I've tried it in both a 6P and 8P. The 6P would be a "perfect', more tailored fit over thinner, dressier clothes - a tiny bit snug across the shoulders - while the 8P would allow some room for a sweater yet still not be too limp or boxy. The sleeve length is only slightly more generous without being too long. Though it does not run a full size small, I'm choosing the 8P to allow for more versatile wear. I can't wait to give this to my mother - she's going to love it! The wool blend and lining are soft and substantial and the overall cut and quality is excellent. It's light weight enough for cooler New England Fall weather and looks and feels like it'll be warm enough down to sub-freezing temps to at least 20 degrees. There is one minor point that I'd at first thought was a flaw in the assembly and the reason I initially re-ordered, thus the second size tried. The second button hole from the top is missing any finish stitching. It wasn't until I saw the same thing on the second coat ordered that I realized this is probably not a defect after all, but a deliberate design. The second button hole placement is on one of the horizontal seams where the two rolled edges meet. Since this is a finished seam with no cut edges that would unravel, there's no need for the finish stitching around the button hole. It's a clever labor and cost saving design! However, this is a spot that needs to endure repeated buttoning and unbuttoning that will stress the seam and could pull it apart long before the rest of the coat is likely to show any significant wear. There doesn't appear to be any backstitching or other reinforcement of the seam stitching as it reaches the button hole and even the gentlest tug does start to open the stitches a little there. The rest of the seam appears to be sewn durably and the overall quality is beautiful, so I'm going to consider it well worth the tiny bit of preventative maintenance to add just 2 or 3 stitches hand sewn behind each end of the button hole. Others might consider doing the same. Once I do that and gift this along to my Mom, I'm sure she'll be completely delighted with this long dreamed for coat and can feel warm, snug and secure wearing it with anything and everything to her heart's content!
