This jacket was a very thin fabrication of boiled wool. More like a sweater than a jacket. I have other boiled wool jackets from other years from Appleseeds that are much better quality and value. I returned this jacket!!
The fit was good and the style was nice even if it did seem shorter I person than in the catalog. The color was not pleasing to me for a teal color.....more green than teal or mallard.
I hope Appleseeds goes back to having their jackets made in Europe instead of China as the tag on this one said.

I do like the style of this jacket. However, it is rough to the touch and It does not have the metal buttons that show in the catalog. It fits well and is true to size. I ordered medium petite. I weigh 124 lbs and am 5' 1. I have since steamed the material and it did seem to help. I have also ordered the matching sweater to wear under.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Marlo1517 Runs a Little Small and Short
I have a Boiled Wool Jacket from several years ago. The wool now seems thinner and the jacket is slightly snug and a bit short at 26 inches. The quality is not the same. The color of the jacket looked completely different in the catalog. The online photo is more accurate. I like the catalog color more and not the color of the jacket itself.

Beautiful jacket, a bit rough and itchy though and runs a bit small- or maybe I just need to loose 5 lb! I thought about returning it, but it works with a turtleneck.

Very pleased with this purchase! The butterscotch color is nice for fall and I will wear with black, brown or olive green; the weight is light but the texture is wooly, cozy and tactile. The price was GREAT on markdown, additional discount and free shipping. My only negative is that this jacket could use some more structure in the shoulders. I purchased a set of light shoulder pads to install to make it more structured and to fit better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by knoodle Not the quality of Boiled Wool that I am used to.
I received the lovely Rose color which is very beautiful. I like the fit and the collar and pockets. The two big drawbacks are the rough feel and the thinness of the fabric. There are a number of places especially on the back that look almost threadbare, and its never been worn! The fabric is also very scratchy. I put it in the dryer on air only with fabric softener sheets which helped a little.

I love the three Town and Country jackets I bought in past years and was excited to find them on sale, The bay mist color is lovely, but the sizing is off, being a full 4 inches shorter than previous versions and running much tighter through the shoulders and bust. The smalls I have are quite roomy, but this time I had to get a medium. The buttons are not metal as in the picture, but are plastic in the same color as the jacket. Bottom line: a good deal at the sale price, but skimpier than I expected.
