Rated 3 out of 5�by PolH This dress is not really as pictured unfortunately The catalog picture shows a dress with three-quarter lengh sleeves which was part of its appeal for me. However, when it arrived, it had little 2 inch cap sleeves which are not nearly as flattering as the longer length. While I might wear sleeves of this lengh, I did not want that look in this particular garmet and was very disappointed when it arrived. Surely Appleseeds can do better than this with their catalog marketing materials. Other than that, the fit was fine although the petite runs a little too short for my tastes even though I am only 5' 2". May 3, 2015

BEST ANSWER: They are definitely not as long as pictured and aren't what I'd call a cap sleeve either. They are short sleeves - about half way from the shoulder to the elbow. The dress is beautiful!

The model in the photo must have short arms: the sleeves on the Laura dress don't come anywhere close to being elbow-length; they're definitely cap sleeves.

I am 5'3" and the dress falls just below my knee, perhaps a tiny bit lower than shown in the picture. I bought a regular size 10 and measurement from the back neck to the hem is 41 1/4" I hope that helps.

How long is the dress?

BEST ANSWER: Measuring from the top of the back to the hem is about 38" and from the top of the back to the top of the ruching is about 11-12 inches. I'm 5' 1" and it's a nice length. Of course, how it will fit on someone else is probably going to be based on whether your are slim or full figured. One caveat...the cap sleeves are really cap sleeves. They aren't as long as shown in the picture.
