Of course the fabric is thin, it is a Summer dress. During the Texas Summers it will be 88 to 90 degrees at 7 AM, so thin lightweight is perfect. I am sometimes a 10, but mostly a 12(38 bust-line and 32 waistline) and the 12 fits perfect. I washed it, hung it to dry and ironed it. I washed it alone, because I was afraid a lot of the blue color would bleed. It did, but it didn't fade. February 21, 2016

The blue colors are not as bright as pictured, but it is still very pretty. The lightweight material will be excellent for hot summer weather. I am very pleased with this purchase. February 6, 2016

I am so used to Appleseeds carrying high quality clothing that I was saddened to see the thin, almost see-thru fabric. The design was printed on the fabric, not woven into the fabric. The fabric is light-weight making this the perfect dress for a hot summer day. On me the dress is slightly highwaisted hiding a multitude of tummy issues. The front slit is high enough to reveal a flash of leg without being overtly revealing. I love this dress and on sale it was a bargain to boot! October 18, 2015

The blue colors of the dress are darker on the internet site compared with the catalog. Which is the truest color? Also, is the back elastic skin tight or more loose fitting where the elastic does not touch the skin?

BEST ANSWER: I think the truer color is the catalogue but I don't have one anymore to check. The elastic is white and does touch but it was not noticeable to me. I received lots of compliments when I wore this dress.

There is a light blue in the print that doesn't show up as well online, however the dark blue is accurate. Also, I got my usual size and it was quite roomy in the waist. The elastic is not tight.

I didn't notice any difference. The elastic doesn't touch my skin, because the size 12 I purchased is loose fitting. It fits perfect; I simply have room to move in it.

Internet site has the truest color, the catalog photos are kind of washed out. The back elastic is snug against the skin. The dress runs large on me.

What country is the origin , China or India ?

BEST ANSWER: India, that is why I washed it alone the first couple of times to make sure the blue dye didn't run on other clothes. The dye did bleed the first couple of washings, but it didn't affect it's look. It still looks great.

What is the length from the wast to hem size misses
?

BEST ANSWER: I have the Petite size 12. The length from my waist to the bottom hem is 32 &1/2 inches. But, from the umpire seam, which falls below the bust and above the waist to the bottom of the hem is about 35. I am 5'3" and it is just right; not too long. It is a beautiful casual dress and I wore it on Mother's Day which was in 80 degrees. The thin cotton is great for hot weather. I am 66 years old and it is suitable for me and would look even more beautiful on a younger woman.

I ordered a 12 regular and the distance between the sewn waistline and the bottom hem is 37 inches. The sewn in waistline comes up about one and a half inches above my natural waist, but since I am not going to wear a belt with it and I like it loose it is perfect for me.

For misses size 14, waist to hem is 35', . I am 5'8" tall and sometimes have problems getting clothing long enough -- but the length of this dress is perfect! The fabric is very lightweight and could easily be hemmed if a shorter length was needed.
