Unfortunately it was very tight across the shoulders and armpit with a very small armhole and then was very loose around the waist and below. I returned it this morning. The PXL was not available or I might have tried exchanging it but I worry that the waist and skirt would be even larger. December 24, 2015

Lovely, graceful, sweeping - but keep in mind that it is a MAXI dress so for those of us petite ones who didn't see that little 4-letter word, we'll take it for a little lift in the hemline. I'm between a 12 and 14, but even I found it a bit loose fitting in the top. The deep green coloring will wear nicely thru autumn and winter. There was hardly any fabric over the shoulders; my bra straps showed and I don't have unusually narrow shoulders. The dress was certainly not worth $69.95. It frankly wasn't worth $20.00. I returned this dress at my own expense for about $6.00 via the USPS because the return label provided by Appleseeds would have cost me $9.95. I have made satisfactory purchases from Appleseeds in the past, so this was especially disappointing. November 7, 2015

The top fit pretty OK (I like loose) but the rest fit more than loose...The length went to my ankles...(5.5") I would have ordered a smaller size except for the top fit... One more thing: ordered 8/19/15... received 10/8/15... returned 10/9/15... Asked before to review but had not received it... October 18, 2015

what is leanth of dress?

BEST ANSWER: I ordered the small and when I lay it flat on the bed and measure it from the top of the neck opening in the back to the bottom of the hem it measures 50 inches. Directly underneath the sleeves I measured it across and it measures 16 1/2 inches. From there it flares out like the tent dress used to. The material is wonderful!!It is so comfortable and DOES NOT WRINKLE!!! Hope this helps.

Mine measures about 54 inches from the shoulder. I'm 5'3", and the dress hangs to my ankles -- a long dress, but I didn't trip over it on the dance floor! Go for it -- it's a gorgeous, easy-care dress! It would be an easy chore to hem it up a bit should you have to.

BEST ANSWER: I don't remember exactly, but I'm 5'2" tall and I did not have to have it shortened; but it does come pretty much to my ankles. Hope that helps. p.s. I've worn these dresses non-stop this winter and they've held up great!

That sounds like the length for the average sizing not Petite. I didn't actually measure my length.

Is this a winter dress?

BEST ANSWER: If the customer lives in a climate with severe winters, it should be considered a light-weight dress. I live in Kansas City (not really terribly cold in winter) and I wear it with a long sweater vest and tights. By the way, I really, really like this dress, the way it fits and the way it looks on me.

I have this dress in all three colors, and it is PERFECT for all seasons. Just layer on sweaters, scarves, boots, etc. If there were more colors available, I would buy them all...best purchase ever!!

What is the fabric?

BEST ANSWER: All the tag says is "Made in USA of Imported fabric." It is a soft, somewhat stretchy fabric, almost like a knit. I really like the dress. It is very comfortable and I get a lot of compliments.

The label says 89% polyester, 8% rayon, 3% spandex; it is a thin knit - am enjoying the dress though I would have preferred a heavier knit.

Who is with me on this? I have all 3 colors, and I want MORE!! I see a sleeveless version in bubblegum pink, but I'm 70 years old; I wouldn't even wear a sleeveless nightgown! Or pink, ever...

BEST ANSWER: I love these dresses also. It would be nice to have one in a nice shade of gray. I do not wear sleeveless either unless I'm wearing a jacket over it.
