Unfortunately, I seem to have a short neck because the collar of the vest is very high. I tried to spread it out more, but then it hangs wrong. So, sadly, I'm sending it back. December 19, 2015

BEST ANSWER: I take a petite x-large and this vest was a perfect fit, so I would say it runs true to size. I love this vest and apparently others do too, because I have had many compliments on it.

I did not size up and it fits fine. It does not close so it doesn't have to meet in the middle, tho mine actually overlaps a tiny bit if I am chilled and pull it close around me.

In a button down sweater I like to wear an XL, but with a vest I usually order a large and find it to be good. I ordered a large in this vest and it is good.

I normally wear a petite large. Since that was not available, I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly.
I would not recommend sizing up.

I found this vest to run large and long. In fact, I am returning it. Of course I am very short at 5'1"! It would definitely be warm.
