Exactly how wide is that waistband?

BEST ANSWER: It is VERY wide. I plan to fold it over and insert my own elastic to make a new waistband - which will snug it up & shorten it. Otherwise, I love the feel of the pleated fabric, which is why I'm altering it rather than returning it.
