I ordered these pants in navy a few years ago -- I like them and the fit, so despite the high price for polyester pants, I decided to order them in black. Be warned -- these are NOT the same! Now they have a slim (i.e. too small) fit so that the pockets pull and the overall look is unflattering. Certainly not worth $70! March 26, 2016

Rated 3 out of 5�by MDB1 Fabric and color are great, but the sizing is off. Have purchased Appleseed pants previously, but this is the first time the crotch is too low for a petite proportion. It results in the length being too long which means that an alteration is needed in the crotch area (difficult) or the pant leg lengths need shortening. January 8, 2016

However, when I tried on the 20 misses it was too big in the waist even though the size chart indicated it should fit me. This pant is similar in style to the Washable Gabardine Pant but they fit differently. The fabric is good and I expected the pants to look neat with a shirt and belt. My expectation is that pants in the same brand, size, and style should fit the same. I sent them back. December 13, 2015

do these fit at the waist or above the waist?

BEST ANSWER: The pants fit a little above my waist; however, I am a little short through the body. I have now bought 5 of these pants. They look so nice and stay lovely when travelling. Oh, they are also very comfortable and easy to maintain. I have both laundered them and sent them to the cleaners. Of course the cleaners do a much nicer job but, a gentle wash works. Great pants and they look so nice with the jacket.

These pants fit at the waist. I have an average stride and long legs. These pants were too long in the stride. There is enough material to fold over in the stride. The legs needed to be longer for me.

Are these pants straight leg or tapered leg?

BEST ANSWER: They are somewhat tapered. My size 6 measures about 12" across just below the crotch and 8" at the hem - just enough taper to keep them from looking baggy.

I would describe these pants as gently tapered. When draped neatly over a hanger with the inseam and outside seam over each other the distance from the center front crease to the center back crease at the hemline of a size 8 is 9". You may want to compare this to the measurement of a pair of pants that you own and like before making a purchase decision.

I can't answer that question, as I ordered the tall length. But I will say that the tall length is extremely long; even when wearing heels, the hem almost touches the floor. It is so nice to finally find trousers that do not sway far above my ankles (I am 5'9" and wear a 34" inseam). I wear my Bi-Stretch Pants to work with lots of different outfits.

This fabric is a soft, very fine-weave twill. You really can't see that it is twill unless you look at it from a few inches away! It drapes nicely and I use them for work. The fabric is just a little less dressy than crepe.

The tag in the pants indicates they cannot be put into the dryer, but must be line dried and ironed. Is this true? I do not want a pant that I cannot dry in the dryer.

I have never put these pants in a dryer. I prefer to let them dry naturally.
They do tend to shrink. Found that out the first time that I purchased them and dried them on low.

How deep are the pockets? I carry my keys, phone, etc. in my pockets so I do not like shallow pockets.

BEST ANSWER: The pockets on these pants are not deep at all. from the bottom of the opening they are about 1 inch deep. I would not put anything in them that I really want to keep.

BEST ANSWER: It depends on where you live and whether you're going to be inside or outside. I think if you live in a mild climate and mostly will be in air conditioned rooms, they will be fine. But if you live in a hot climate and will be out in the heat a lot, perhaps not.
