Houndstooth Boiled-Wool Jacket is rated

If you want SWEATER FABRIC, this is for you.
I anxiously awaited for this to arrive. This jacket is nothing like the other boiled wool jackets I have. I was extremely disappointed when I opened it and saw the SWEATER-LIKE, LOOSE KNIT "FABRIC". Yuck. I should have listened to a previous reviewer who commented about the fabric too. The only thing nice about this jacket are the colors.

Very nice jacket but fit a bit odd
I ordered a medium for this jacket and it was too large around the body - it almost looked like it was a swing jacket, but didn't quite make it as one, so it looked too big. I ordered the small then, since I really was hoping it would fit as I think the wool fabric is quite nice (and a little thicker, not flimsy at all), and it was still a bit big around the body but the sleeves were too short. I tend to have broad shoulders and then a smaller waist, so it may be just that my body shape doesn't suit it, too bad because I quite liked the color and fabric!

Definitely some pros and cons
This jacket is not as pictured. Although the color is called "dark purple", the color is really a medium periwinkle -- MUCH lighter than a true dark purple.
Also if this is boiled wool, it is not like any boiled wool I have ever scene. This is a knit sweater. The fabric reminds me of a shetland sweater.
It's also heavy. With a cotton turtleneck under it, it might be too hot to wear to the office or to a party in a crowded room. The jacket is more appropriate to wear outside. It could even be worn in the winter. Note that it is unlined.
The biggest plus is that the jacket is very cozy. Three stars because it's nice for what it is. However, I will be returning it since the description seems inaccurate and it's not close to what I thought what I would be getting.
