I think if you are on the heavier side and had large hips, this jacket would work for you. The jacket falls straight down with no shaping. If you had larger hips, they would fill the space. With a slim built, the coat looks to open at the bottom. I did like the material, but inside the coat, the construction is very strange. January 2, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5�by Gram04 Disappointed When I received this coat I was very pleased with it. Fit was true to size, but when I wore it the first time it shed on a black sweater that I was wearing. I thought it would help if I washed it, but when I washed it three of the five buttons for the hood came off and when I removed it from the washer it was soaking wet. I tried to spin it again, but that didn't help. It took 3 days to dry. I have since secured all the buttons but do not look forward to the next time I have to wash it. December 15, 2015

How long is the jacket? Where would it hit the wearer?

BEST ANSWER: I am 5 ft. 7 in. Tall and the jacket is about seven inches from my knees and when I put my arm straight down
The hem hits where my palm ends and my fingers begin. I hope this helps. I love the way it fits.

Did not seem to be as long as the picture indicated. I am a petite and ordered the PM and the jacket hit me just right at the end of my buttocks. Not quite as long as I wanted but I kept the jacket.

I bought this coat for my mother-in-law who is about 5'1. We bought a large petite and it fit well across the shoulders and hit her about mid-hip, not quite tunic length. I hope this helps!

This is a nice longer jacket. I am short 5' and the jacket hits me about 6 to 7" above the knee. For a taller person it would still have good hip coverage.

I did not try this jacket on, so I can't say, but judging from the picture, it is just above mid-thigh.
