I had to go up one size in ordering this dress. I am 5 foot 5 inches and weight about 125 pounds. My usual size is a 6, but an 8
in this size fits fine. In order for the gathers to look nice, a certain amount of ease is necessary. I found this same situation
when I ordered the same style dress from another company. I ordered the petite size so the dress was not too very long.

I'm a tad on the floppy side when it comes to the upper arms, and it is not a problem in the sleeves. The material has a great deal of stretchiness. Though I haven't had to use that in the sleeves, that adds even more room. This is the most comfortable dress I have ever owned.

Not that full, although see how they are closer to the elbow on the model, that might help. Really cute, but the tie waist was too much trouble for me trying to even out the gathers.

Hi, I'm 5'6", and the bottom of the sleeve is 2" above the edge of my elbow bone. The button at the end of the sleeve is not holding up gathered fabric. The sleeve covers my upper arm well. Judy

I ordered the petite because of the skirt length, therefore the sleeves are between shoulder and elbow. they many be longer on regular sizes.

In the petite size does the dress sit at natural waist?

BEST ANSWER: I have a slightly higher waist, so there's a little bit of "blousy-ness." Also, my dress's pockets tend to bulge and the fabric won't cooperate with my iron.

I sent the dress back--did not like anything about the fit including the waist but especially did not find the material at all attractive which may have also effected the fit. ...was a loose weave, cheap and unattractive, not sharp like the picture.

BEST ANSWER: The bottom of this dress is not fitted. Actually the dress hangs straight from the armholes, what gives it shape is the cinching at the waist. I find this dress very comfortable.

Does the petite 6 fit like a 6 only shorter ? If I buy petite 6 will it fit like a misses 6 and be shorter in length and narrower in shoulders?

BEST ANSWER: A petite 6 is different from a regular 6 in that the length is shorter but also the waist is somewhat higher
and the bodice is slightly smaller. If there are sleeves, they are slightly shorter.
