Shetland Cable Cardigan | Women's Cardigan

The description for the Cabled Wool Cardigan in my catalogue says "pure wool yarn" however when I pulled the sweater up your website, under the Details section it says Content "wool blend". Is this a 100% wool cardigan, or is it a blend? If a blend, what is in the sweater, besides pure wool?

BEST ANSWER: I purchased 3 colors of these sweaters. I am very pleased and would recommend the item. They are sized generously and easily go over a long sleeved blouse. I am 5'9" and both the garment length and sleeves are good for me. They are tightly knitted and don't stretch with wear.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, if you use something like Eucalan, or Woolite. Don't over do it and be sure to lay it flat to dry, never ever put it in the dryer. I've washed my wool sweaters for 50+ years.

I purchased this sweater at a second hand store. I absolutely love it. I washed it in my front-loading machine on cold and delicate with Woolite and laid it flat on a sweater drying rack to dry. (I also found the drying rack at a thrift store, and love it!) It washed beautifully. I am planning on buying another sweater or two in different colors from this web-site. The sweater is very warm. In Portland, Oregon where I live, I can wear it and get away without a coat some days in winter.

Hello! Happy New Year! I have always sent the sweaters to the cleaners.... I have never washed them. I love these sweaters , they are sized nicely, easy to wear with anything , I wear one almost everyday to work. they always look good. I have had some for years. My machine has a wool setting and it is quite satisfactory. I would guess that it would be fine if you wash by hand or in the gentle cycle (cold water). I lay mine flat to dry; I would not put it in the dryer!

I send it to the dry cleaner, to keep it better, it is of very good quality, the measurement is adequate, very warm and I have three colors of the same model several years ago, highly recommended.

BEST ANSWER: The label sewn into the lower inseam is listed as 100% wool & it does look and feel like wool. Wonderfully warm on a cold fall, winter or early spring day. I purchased two of them. I wear sometimes larges and sometimes mediums. Reading the reviews, I ordered the medium in both sweaters, and they are generous for a medium, but fit me fine especially if worn with a long sleeve blouse underneath. Typically of wool, the sweaters keep their shape, but I do have to de-pill them after wearing. I do recommend them if you like the warmth and look of genuine wool, also they wear much longer then many of the multi-fiber sweaters with rayon, nylon or poly yarns that are not that warm and seem to stretch out and lose their shape.

I have washed and rinsed mine in warm water, then squeezed them in towels to remove excess water, finally dried them on a flat rack. They come out nice and soft, no shrinkage. Never tried washing in a machine.

As with any woolen garment I never wash it. I get it dry cleaned and no it does not shrink if you get it dry-cleaned.
